New York Cheesecake

I made this rich cake for dessert at a dinner with some friends, and everyone enjoyed it. I needed to buy a springform pan for this recipe- a pan that is used to bake cheesecake- because the outer edge can be taken off, making the cake easier to remove.

This was my first time This This was my first time making cheesecake, and all I'll say is I could have done better. First, I didn't realize that a graham cracker was one SQUARE, not one rectangle. I crushed double the amount of crackers and didn't realize it until it was already in the pan, so I just removed half and added more butter to try to make up for that lost. Then, the cream cheese wasn't room temperature yet when I mixed in the sugar- it was still a little cold. This made my batter a bit lumpy. Then, when baking, I accidentally turned the oven off for a few minutes without realizing it, but I'm not sure this changed anything. I would reccomend  avoiding the mistakes that I made, and not even checking to see if the cake looks finished after an hour, since it doesn't get golden or look set at first. You can serve this with chocolate syrup on top, cherry pie filling, strawberry sauce or whatever filling you want. Cheesecake is creamy, rich and fairly easy to make.
